Two dedicated volunteers are turning trash into treasure for the Operation K9 assistance dog program. Tanya and Tracy are supporters of the program and held a successful fundraiser at Semaphore Port Adelaide RSL last year (pictured above with Colin and David). Their first venture for 2017 is a garage sale at Adams Place, Alberton on Saturday February 4. Tanya has been busy filling the shed with books, candles, clothing, gardening tools, kids toys, kitchenware, magazines, militaria, plants, puzzles and more. Visitors will be welcomed from 7.00am with face painting for the kids from 12.00 – 2.00pm.
Tanya and Tracy are focusing their fundraising efforts on care packages for assistance dogs. Currently 13 assistance dogs have been issued to veterans, and we expect the dogs to be with veterans for up to 10 years. The care packages will ensure that toys, beds, leashes and other equipment are readily available for dogs throughout this time.
