The Golden Grove Football Club have made a significant donation to the RSL following a successful fundraising campaign during the season.
The club decided to design and wear a commemorative guernsey for the ANZAC Day clash on April 23.
The guernsey featured the ANZAC Appeal logo and a camouflage green background.
The jumpers were successfully sold online and donations were also received at the club following the game.
The club President then had to rush overseas mid-season and finalisation of the fundraising efforts were delayed.
RSL staff were expecting a small donation from the club and were pleasantly surprised when notified of the $5000 donation.
A cheque, replica guernsey and scarf have since been presented to the RSL by their Social Media Manager, Nick Gaudio.
The RSL receives a number of donations from sporting clubs including Port Adelaide FC, Norwood FC, Adelaide Utd FC and the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
The Golden Grove Kookaburras may compete in the Amateur League but their commitment to fundraising and community spirit has been nothing but professional.
