11:00am, 11 November - Lest we forget
11th November marks the anniversary of the Armistice which brought an end to The Great War of 1914 - 1918. November is a significant month for the RSL and includes Remembrance Day commemorations and the RSL Poppy Appeal.
Remembrance Day 2023 was commemorated on Saturday 11th November in regional and metropolitan areas across the nation and internationally. The 2024 Remembrance Day will be on Monday 11th November.
Adelaide Service Keynote Address by Keith Harrison
The Adelaide Remembrance Day service was commemorated at the SA National War Memorial, corner North Terrace and Kintore Avenue. Veterans, families, serving ADF personnel and the public attended.

The Field of Remembrance features thousands of crosses planted in the lawns adjacent to Government House, Adelaide. The crosses are planted by veteran associations and school students.
The Tri-Service Catafalque Party is mounted 2022.

Purchase a poppy
Honour the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our nation by purchasing a poppy from a volunteer or planting a virtual poppy with a special message https://poppyappeal.com.au
Online Poppy Appeal donations and poppy badge sales, as well as purchases from participating Woolworths and Officeworks stores, are managed nationally through RSL Victoria. Funds are then shared to the relevant state where the donation came from. Please donate knowing that the return will be to your state RSL.
RSL SA thanks participating RSL Sub-Branches, Woolworths Supermarkets, Officeworks stores and Blooms the Chemist, Castle Plaza Shopping Centre for being Poppy Appeal outlets. Your donation allows the RSL to provide services to suit the needs of our current and former service women and men, and their families. You are changing a veteran’s life.
The Poppy Appeal fundraises for the RSL to deliver services and assistance to veterans and their families. The appeal provides support for Advocacy Services and Wellbeing Assistance programs. RSL SA is grateful for the support of RSL and community volunteers, serving personnel from the Australian Defence Force, organisations, sporting groups and businesses who collect and donate for the Poppy Appeal.
