RSL SA FESTIVE SEASON GREETINGS

RSL SUB-BRANCH CONSTITUTION REVIEW
By-Law N1 is the template that RSL SA/NT and Broken Hill Sub-Branches will use as their Constitution, once passed at the 2025 Annual Sub-Branch Conference, replacing the current By-Law 8: Model Rules for Sub-Branches. This document is important for professional, consistent Sub-Branch operations and to position them with current, proper management practices.
REMEMBRANCE DAY 2024
11th November marks the anniversary of the Armistice which brought an end to The Great War of 1914 - 1918. November is a significant month for the RSL and includes Remembrance Day commemorations and the RSL Poppy Appeal.
The 2024 Remembrance Day was on Monday 11th November. Services were conducted in regional and metropolitan areas. Each one special in its own way.
MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID
Donation Alert: Our friends Narelle and Matt from Frontline Mental Health - Building Resilient People have blown us away with a pledge! For every 2 day Mental Health First Aid group workshop booked during Nov, Dec and Jan, $150.00 will be donated to our RSL Reach Out Wellbeing Program!
TARA BELTON APPOINTED CEO
We are pleased to announce the official appointment of Tara Belton as our new Chief Executive Officer of RSL SA/NT & Broken Hill, acknowledging her exemplary leadership in recent months as acting CEO and her inspiring commitment to driving the RSL’s mission forward.
7RAR FAREWELL TO ADELAIDE 26/10/24
The 7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment farewelled South Australia with a formal parade at Torrens Parade Ground on Saturday 26 October.
ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB DONATION
Adelaide Football Club gifted more than $50,000 to the RSL ($38,000 to RSL SA) from the sale and auction of its 2024 Anzac Guernsey. AFC launched its first commemorative Anzac Guernsey in April this year and committed to donating part proceeds from the sale of the guernseys to the RSL Anzac Appeal. Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide
The Final Report of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicides has been presented to parliament.
The RSL is calling for an independent National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Wellbeing to lead implementation of the recommendations made by the Royal Commission and to ensure there is a sustained and permanent watch on the health and wellbeing of veterans, ex-serving ADF members, and their families.
INTERFET 25 ANNIVERSARY
International Force East Timor 1999 INTERFET was the Australian Government initiative to re-install law and order to the trouble people of East Timor.
Veterans, families and schoolchildren marked the INTERFET East Timor 25th anniversary with a well attended commemoration in Adelaide on Friday 20th September 2024.
