Aboriginal Veterans' Commemorative Service 2023

Aboriginal Veterans SA was honoured to be coordinating the annual Aboriginal Veterans' Commemorative Service on Friday 2 June, at the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander War Memorial, during Reconciliation Week, to acknowledge all First Nations people who have served our country since the Second Boer War.

An open invitation was extended to all veterans, Families, ADF and the public to attend the service at the Torrens Parade Ground, Adelaide.

The service was followed by a light lunch in the Drill Hall. Copies of the book "For Love of Country" could be purchased and the travelling exhibition "Call of Country" was displayed.

Dozens of books were placed as tributes and these will be distributed to community schools. Over the years this has resulted in thousands of dollars worth of books donated to school libraries.
