FREEDOM OF CITY PARADE 12/8/23

The 10th/27th Battalion, The Royal South Australia Regiment exercised the 10th Battalion’s Freedom of Entry to the City of Adelaide on Saturday 12 August with swords drawn, rifles carried, drums beating, colours flying and armour protecting.

The parade was challenged at the Adelaide Town Hall by the Assistant Police Commissioner Scott Duvall. Entry was granted, and the soldiers and musicians were reviewed by the Lord Mayor with Colonel Steve Larkins and Lieutenant Colonel Sam Benveniste. Bushmaster armoured vehicles were the final element of the parade.

This is an important occasion as it solidifies and builds upon the history and connection the unit has with the City of Adelaide, as well as symbolising the continued relationship and commitment the Army Reserve has with the community.
